Consult your physician, neurologist, and physical therapist, assess your fitness levels, and follow all safety instructions before beginning this or any exercise program. The MSing Link program you are about to begin is physical therapy advice for generic multiple sclerosis symptoms and is not meant to diagnosis or treat any specific person. You should consult a neurologist and physical therapist in your area to determine the best and safest treatment and therapy options based on your specific limitations and needs. It is extremely important that you listen to your body, use common sense, take breaks, and hydrate as needed to avoid overheating and injury and help prevent serious medical conditions, such as pseudo-relapses due to heat intolerance and rhabdomyolysis, a rare but potentially lethal threat impacting people who have not let their muscles adapt to difficult workouts. Only you can know if you are in sufficient physical condition to safely perform this exercise program. If at any time you feel you are exercising beyond your current fitness abilities, or you feel any of your multiple sclerosis symptoms worsening or any discomfort, pain, dizziness, or nausea, you should discontinue exercise immediately and reconsider your use of the program or the particular exercise routine. Certain MSing Link exercises utilize stairs/steps, countertops, chairs, etc. which, if not used correctly, could lead to serious injury. For your safety, you must use any equipment/furniture shown in the workouts only as demonstrated, inspect any equipment/furniture prior to each use and refrain from using any equipment/furniture that appears damaged, worn, defective, or unsafe. Always exercise caution during use to make sure you do not lose your grip or control, such as making sure your hands are not wet or sweaty or the surface you are using is not wet or damp. Also make sure the surface you are using during balance and walking exercises does not move to avoid falling or losing balance. When performing exercises using a step or stairs, make sure your step/stairs are stable, strong enough to hold your weight and does not move. If you do not think you can safely perform exercises with your step/stair, or you do not have a proper step/stair, you should use the modifier exercises to stay safe without the step or stair. Do not substitute any other equipment for a proper exercise step/stair. Improper form or use of equipment can cause serious and permanent injury. Always make sure your exercise area is clear of any obstacles, including pets, children, other people, or equipment not currently in use. If you have any unique or special medical conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, if you’re pregnant, or if you have a history of knee, ankle, shoulder or spinal (back or neck) problems, you must consult with a competent and reliable physician and neurologist to understand all risks, contraindications and complications of using this program, and receive authorization from them before beginning this program. Failure to do so could result in significant injury to you and others (including, if applicable, your unborn child). By using this program, you assume all dangers, hazards and risks of injury in the use of this program. The MSing Link offers many fitness alternatives if you are prone to or have a history of injuries, or are not ready for a physically demanding workout program. What People Are Saying:

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Gretchen. After my diagnosis in September of 2018, my neurologist referred me to Gretchen. I was having leg weakness, leg fatigue, spasticity, trouble with walking long distances (unassisted) and so many more. I can not express, in words, how talented this woman is. The MSing link is a MUST HAVE! The exercises are easy and most of them you can do anywhere! The site is updated SUPER frequently so there’s always new content to explore. Usually monthly there is a guest speaker - such great learning! You seriously have access to a physical therapist who specializes in MS! She listens to every, single symptom. She never looks at you like your crazy (trust me, one day I told her that I was experiencing a vibrating feeling inside my legs and feet - she was like “no problem” and then gave me different tactics to make it go away). She is AMAZING!! Thank you Dr. Gretchen for helping me get strong and believing in me!

Doctor Gretchen is truly an entrepreneur in the field of MS Physical Therapy. I first met her three months ago and it was life changing. I have been active all my life but as someone with 34 years "time in grade" with MS, someone who now uses a rollator, and someone who has transitioned to Secondary Progressive MS, I desperately needed to kick my exercise routine up a notch. And then I was referred to Gretchen. She get's it. She understood everything I questioned. She not only gave me a routine that was acceptable and achievable, but she gave me a new hope of what was possible. Doctor Gretchen was truly a find for me. Her website is now available 24 hours and has more tools than I ever could have imagined: exercises, expert videos, guest speakers, and research updates... all without having to leave your home. I can't say enough about this program and suggest you give it a chance. You won't regret.

Dr. Gretchen covers everything ! Her exercises have helped me in more ways than I can count-from getting up after a fall, to strengthening areas that needed HELP ! They are all right on your PC-no long commutes-no traffic -no picking up germs from a hospital or "ride".- that has happened to me ! You will NOT be sorry if you join! And, not to forget , the wonderful "speakers" that cover various issues !! She keeps you informed of all the latest MS Medicines ,too !! I used to see her at a clinic, so glad I can see her everyday !! Thank you, Dr., for this wonderful site !!

"Dr. Gretchen Hawley is truly one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met in the multiple sclerosis field. With her help, I have made tremendous progress in dealing with my daily challenges. She has honestly given me the tools needed to improve my walking and balance, two of my biggest struggles. Her videos give everyone dealing with MS the opportunity to experience her expertise and enthusiasm as if she was personally working with them one on one. I would recommend her video series to anyone dealing with MS."

Gretchen is professional, knowledgeable, and very caring. If I'm having difficulty with an exercise, she finds a way to modify it so I can be successful. I appreciate her knowledge and experience specifically with Multiple Sclerosis patients. She understands how spasticity and fatigue can impact how I move, and knows how to design a program that works for me.

Gretchen Hawley is amazing. I've had physical therapy before, but it was nothing like what I've experienced with Gretchen. The series of exercises she suggested were targeted specifically at walking, flat surfaces and stairs. Gretchen coached me through exercises that worked the major muscles AND the micro muscles (many which I hadn't known existed) AND in context of the movement I aspired to improve. Many of the exercises were in the context of walking or climbing stairs; for those that weren't, she explained how we were targeting how muscles worked together. She even introduced cognitive exercises to accompany the physical work. Physical Therapy with Gretchen soars above the physical therapy I had a few years ago for the same issues.

Having Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years now has been somewhat of a challenge. My balance along with weakness in my legs and hands started to take a toll on me. I wasn't happy with the way I was feeling so I asked my MS Neurologist for advise. He suggested some Physical Therapy with Gretchen. I was very impressed with her knowledge of MS and her ability to physically help me. Her skillful teaching methods along with my hard work has helped me regain my balance and I am now walking much better again.

I have made more progress (walking, balance, learning to stand from a wheelchair) in 3 months than in the last 3 years. The attention you get is specifically designed for you and your abilities. Gretchen was specifically recommended by my MS physician. I can feel the improvement!!!
