Microbiome & Gut Bacteria🦠

Dec 13, 2022

Hey there!

"Gut health" seems to be a big buzz topic lately. And with good reason! There is a lot of research coming forward about the link between a healthy gut, and it's connection to your brain health, hormone health, and even it's connection to MS.

So, I thought what better way to let people know as much information as possible than by having an expert on the topic as a guest on The MSing Link podcast!

Dr. Kim Bretz ND is a practicing naturopathic doctor with a focus on gut health for over 20 years. In this episode, she talks to us about how specific foods and food groups affect our gut and microbiome. And what that means for MS symptoms.

Dr. Kim Bretz ND is a practicing naturopathic doctor with a focus on gut health for over 20 years. She is an advocate for education, leading continuing education in gut health for many healthcare professionals and is adjunct faculty at the University of Waterloo, Pharmacy School.

Her main area of focus is the microbiota and gastrointestinal health. Dr. Bretz was fortunate to begin working in this area over 10 years ago when the microbiota was in its infancy, and it led to a paradigm shift in her feelings about overall human health and nutrition. Work with patients is a passion for Kim and she has both one-on-one practice and group IBS treatment programs available.

Check out this episode on Spotify OR Apple Podcast and if you are looking to connect with Dr. Bretz after listening to the episode you can find her information in the show notes.

I hope you enjoy!

Best,

Dr. Gretchen, PT

1. Connect with me on YouTube - Subscribe to my Dr. Gretchen YouTube page where you will be able to find MS specific exercises, research updates, guest speakers, and MORE!

2. Join The MSing Link Community - The MSing Link is my online MS wellness program where you'll find video demonstrations and explanations of MS-specific exercises for strengthening, walking, balance, and flexibility. There are also videos for activity-specific movements such as getting into/out of bed or a car, standing up from the ground, sitting down with more control, stair climbing, etc. Since this program focuses on the whole person and not just exercise, we have monthly live guest speakers (ie: neurologists, podiatrists, nutritionists, etc.) and research updates.

3. Work with me privately - I offer wellness consults via Zoom. This is an opportunity for you to share your story with MS and your goals. I'm able to educate you on MS-specific exercises for walking, general mobility, transfers, and day-to-day activities (ie: getting into/out of a car, stair climbing, etc.). You can schedule a one-time call or you can schedule recurring calls - your choice. Oftentimes, people will schedule one of these calls prior to joining The MSing Link and/or one call every couple of months. Schedule here
